Tech Tip 13
03/23/91
Problem:
The jumper settings on the Enterprise I (25/33MHz) is not correct
on some of the production boards.
J21 is a 2 pin SIP, which configures the Sysclk on the motherboard.
J8 is a 3 pin SIP, which configures the type of floppy drive
attached to the system.
Solution:
J4 Jumper Settings:
Enterprise I (25MHz):
All Steppings of CPU: J4 Pins 2 & 3 Jumpered
Enterprise I (33MHz):
C0 Stepping CPU ( SX 329 ): J4 Pins 1 & 2 Jumpered
(where J4 Pin 1 is closest to the edge of the motherboard)
J21 Jumper Settings:
Enterprise I (25MHz)
J21 Jumper is installed.
Enterprise I (33MHz)
J21 Jumper is not installed.
J8 Jumper Settings:
Enterprise I (25/33MHz)
IBM PC/AT Compatible Floppy Drive: J8 Pins 1 & 2 Jumpered
PS/2 Compatible floppy drive: J8 Pins 2 & 3 Jumpered
